South Derbyshire District Council has opened a public consultation on the Local Plan Part 1 Review (2022-2041), and now is the time to get involved.
What is the Local Plan Part 1 Review?
This plan sets out the long-term vision for South Derbyshire. The review will shape how the district grows and develops over the next two decades.
Why Should You Participate?
The consultation includes important supporting documents:
✅ Sustainability Appraisal – Assesses the environmental and social impacts of the plan.
✅ Consultation Statement – Summarises previous public engagement and feedback.
✅ Habitats Regulation Assessment – Evaluates how the plan impacts protected wildlife areas.
How to Get Involved
The consultation is open from Monday 10th March 2025 to Friday 25th April 2025 (5:00 PM).
At this stage, feedback must focus on legal compliance and soundness—essentially, whether the plan meets legal requirements and is based on solid evidence. All representations will be reviewed by an independent Planning Inspector at a future Examination in Public.
Make Your Voice Heard
Now is your chance to influence the future of South Derbyshire. Whether you’re a resident, business owner, or stakeholder, your input can help shape the district for years to come.
